26 Years Since That Terrible Night
Dear Supporter,
five minutes past midnight, tonight in Bhopal, will mark the 26th anniversary of the Bhopal Disaster. This equates to 20.35GMT this evening.
Please spare a thought for those that died a terrible death that night, the thousands more who have died since, and all those who remain chronically sick after having been exposed to the poisonous gas.
Please spare a thought for all of the innocent children born damaged and carrying the effects of this awful disaster into the next generations.
Please also remember that, through the toxic contamination of their drinking water, the poisoning still continues for many thousands of Bhopalis.
All of us at The Bhopal Medical Appeal will be marking this moment simply by lighting a candle and taking the time to contemplate the full magnitude of what has transpired, in Bhopal, since that terrible event.
Please show solidarity, with all of those still suffering in Bhopal, by making a heartfelt gesture, lighting your own candle, and taking a quiet moment to reflect upon how this suffering can be allowed to continue.
